On tour

Supervision and team staff.

Select Team players travel and train together as one supervised group from arrival transfer to departure transfer.

  • Staff travel with the squad

JOGA tour staff travel with the players for the whole trip and are based in the same hotel, on the same floor as the player rooms.

  • Small, capped squads

Each Select Team travels with a maximum of 20 players, so staff know every player by name and no one gets lost in a crowd.

  • Group movement only

Players move as a group between the hotel, training, matches and activities. Free time is scheduled, supervised and never unaccompanied for under-18 players.

  • Registered coaching staff

On-pitch sessions are led by qualified coaches, including the professional club academy staff who run the club coaching session.

  • Daily check-ins

Staff run a morning and evening roll call and a nightly room check before curfew.

  • 24-hour contact

A duty phone is staffed around the clock for the length of the tour, for both players on tour and parents at home.

Where players stay

Accommodation and rooming.

Football Select Tours include seven nights at a four-star hotel; rugby packages vary by event. Players are roomed by squad, by gender and by age band, and never share a room with an adult who is not their own parent or guardian.

  • Triple

A triple occupancy option is available across every Select Tour destination.

  • Twin / Double

A twin / double occupancy option is available across every Select Tour destination.

  • Single

A single occupancy option is available across every Select Tour destination.

  • Same gender, same age band

Players share only with other players from their own Select Team of the same gender and age group. Boys' and girls' squads are roomed separately.

  • Adults room apart

Staff and accompanying adults have their own rooms. No player shares a room with an adult other than their own parent or guardian.

  • Player floors are supervised

Player rooms are allocated together with staff rooms on the same corridor, and a curfew and room check apply every night.

  • Family rooms nearby

Travelling families stay in the same hotel, so a parent is always minutes away if their player needs them.

Safeguarding

How players are protected.

JOGA operates a written safeguarding policy for every Select Team tour, shared in full with families in the parent information pack before departure.

  • Written safeguarding policy

Every tour runs to a documented safeguarding and player welfare policy, issued to families in the parent information pack before departure.

  • Background-checked staff

JOGA staff and coaches working with under-18 players are background checked before being assigned to a tour.

  • A named welfare contact

Each tour has a named welfare lead. Players and parents are told who that is, and how to reach them, before travel.

  • Guardian consent required

A parent or guardian must complete consent, medical and emergency contact details for every under-18 player before a place is confirmed.

  • Medical and insurance

Medical information is collected in confidence and carried by staff on tour. Families must hold travel and medical insurance covering competitive sport.

  • Photography consent

Photos and video of players are only used with guardian consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing the team.

Getting around

A private team bus for the whole trip.

Every Select Tour includes a private bus for the duration of the trip, used for airport transfers, training, matches and destination activities. Players are never asked to make their own way between venues, and staff travel with the group on every journey.

Staying in touch

Communication with parents at home.

Families receive a parent information pack before departure, a daily update from the tour group while away, and a 24-hour emergency contact number for the duration of the trip.

For families

Travelling families.

Parents and other family members are welcome to travel and stay with the group. Accompanying family rates cover the same accommodation, meals, transfers and destination activities as the player package.
